Indie is not simply a sector of the market, it is a social movement. In a world where social movements are often the most cynical type of corporate astroturfing, the indie movement embodies the ideal of the real thing. The overwhelming majority of indie projects are free, because the drive to make something yourself often comes from the love of the medium, and in finding a voice for one's own talents and deepest passions.
This community has seen exponential growth, to the point that the equally disruptive realm of internet tecnology has not been able to keep up. The standard bearers of content delivery are stuck with algorithms that only promote what is already popular. They serve an audience that is eager for content, but reluctant at best towards providing feedback. And so again it falls to the indie movement to provide a solution which no one else could.
Many solutions to these problems come from many places. Here, you will find a short-form listing of user-shared content, backed by an innovative algorithm meant to drive not only content discovery, but user engagement.
Users can share many forms of content, ranging from games and videos to reviews and tools. User ratings are represented as points awarded to the content.
Where the site differs from most, is in the awarding of points. Not only do you need to have points before you can award them to others, but the posters of the content receive the points that other users award to the content.
The points awarded by users are also an investment. The first few users to award points to content will also receive a share of all future points awarded to that content by other users. All users also receive points over time, up to a limit.
An automated algoritm will demerit the profiles of any users attempting to farm points by simply awarding points indescriminately to game the system. Administrators and moderaters can further demerit the profiles of any users who decrease the enjoyment and usefulness of the site to other users by gaming the system for their own benefit.
