This free fan game is a remake/conversion of the 1978 strategy game Super Star Trek reimagined with the UI of one of my favorite games ever: Star Trek 25th Anniversary.
SAELIG is a strategy game that blends simulation, RPG elements, trading, and business management, where your goal is to ensure the survival, wealth, and legacy of your family. Set in the Dark Ages of England, you'll step into the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Wessex during a time of turmoil. Engage in commerce, manage your enterprises, and make crucial decisions to carve your own path and leave a lasting mark on the world for generations to come.
Last Fuse is a roguelite city-builder meets tower defense—but with a dangerous twist. What could go wrong?
The game tempts you with risk-reward mechanics like Overdrive, which boosts energy but rapidly increases heat. Push too hard? Kaboom.Your crazy engineers constantly throw problems at you.
Every decision shapes your survival. Will you take the risk for extra materials, faster turrets, more workers—but at the cost of rising heat, or play it safe? Choose wisely!
This is a recreation of the pre-rendered looks from the original game but within a modern game engine (Unity) rendered in real-time 3D.
Effects used to achieve this look:
-Custom phong shading and cube map shader with simplified specular handling
-Seperation of background, shadow and character layers with individual lighting
-Color quantization and dithering
-Render resolution 640x480
-Black level heightening
-Sprite composite shader with alpha cut-offs and custom anti-aliasing
-Scanline FX
This is basically the first prototype I've put together and polished for myself. My end goal is to create a Boss Rush game with precise and satisfying combat.
For this prototype, I would just like to gather feedback on how the combat feels. I want to know if the parries feel satisfying, if dealing damage to the enemies feels good and if the controls feels easy to grasp!
If you have any ideas or feedback regarding these things, please leave a comment about it and if you happen to record the gameplay and upload a link to it, that would be even more awesome!
